IQAC stands for Internal Quality Assurance Cell. It is a quality assurance mechanism that operates within educational institutions, particularly in higher education. The primary objective of an IQAC is to develop and maintain quality standards in various aspects of the institution, including teaching, research, infrastructure, student support services, and overall institutional performance.

Objectives:

The IQAC is responsible for implementing and monitoring quality enhancement measures, conducting internal academic audits, facilitating the accreditation process, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. It functions as a nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities and ensuring their effective implementation across different departments and units of the institution.

Functions:

  1. Developing and implementing quality benchmarks for various academic and administrative activities.
  2. Facilitating the creation and revision of academic programs, curricula, and syllabi.
  3. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes.
  4. Organizing faculty development programs and workshops to enhance their teaching skills.
  5. Collecting and analyzing feedback from students, alumni, and other stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
  6. Promoting research and innovation activities within the institution.
  7. Facilitating collaborations and partnerships with other institutions and industries.
  8. Preparing the institution for accreditation and assisting in the accreditation process.
