Principal's Message

Dear Students and Parents,

Lions Club of Silvassa Charitable Trust, Silvassa started its journey in educational field from the year 1983, with the aim of providing inclusive and quality Education from K.G. to P.G. to the boys and girls of this area. The College is the first college in Silvassa to get affiliation of prestigious and well-known University of Mumbai.

We are a college with a difference! We value individualism, creativity and innovation and strive to nurture them in our students. We are a caring community where students’ needs are a priority and where traditional Indian and modern Western educational values are respected and encouraged to coexist.

The curriculum of University of Mumbai emphasizes the acquisition of knowledge, useful skills, understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities for all students attending college. The Management and staff believe that every student is unique and special and that they all have the ability to learn. We believe it is our responsibility as educators to nurture and develop every student to his/her maximum potential. Students are continually encouraged to appreciate our diverse community and to care for others by becoming good citizens and develop a concern and active respect for the environment.

At Smt. Devkiba Mohansinhji Chauhan College of Commerce and Science, the educational community strives for excellence by preparing students for learning beyond their college years and assisting them to become lifelong learners, as well as helping them to be self-directed, realistic, and responsible decision makers when solving problems that they will encounter in our multicultural, ever-changing world. Our aim is to enhance student’s feelings of self-worth and appreciation of their own and other peoples ethnicity, culture and language in a multi-cultural society like our country. Ultimately, each student will gain from his/her life at college according to the effort they apply.

We aim to not just impart knowledge to the students, but also to inculcate in them – wisdom, compassion and a humanitarian spirit. Our College is an amazing playground where each student discovers his/her true calling and unleashes dreams and hopes for the future. The college encourages all students to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities from dance, art and drama to a variety of sports to social work to environmental conservation activities, (the list goes on). An array of events and activities fill up the Devkiba Calendar. Inter School/College Sports and Cultural Competitions, Theme based assemblies, Subject/Theme Days/ Weeks, Sports Meets/Tournament, Guest Speakers, Seminars, Workshops, Excursions…..the list is long and the enthusiasm for everything is endless. I take immense pride in acknowledging the team-work and efforts of all students, teachers and management.

We are a group of diverse experiences and outlooks, committed to excellence in preparing learners for enriched opportunities worldwide. In short, learning at Devkiba College is a wholesome package of attitude, challenge and opportunity.
